I recently bought this new book called "Damaged" by Cathy Glass. This is a true story about a eight year old girl named Jodie, who was badly traumatize, hurt and abuse by her own parents since birth. Causing her to be taken away and to be foster by the author. I had finished this wonderful book in just two days, I'm just hooked. And when the story came to an end, my tears was pouring out and I was so touched.
This was the letter that the little Jodie wrote to Cathy when she was about to being sent to somewhere else for therapy and also this is the part that made me cried:
Dear Cathy,
Paula is writing this as I don't know my words. It was kind of you to look after me and I wish I could have stayed. I'm sorry for all the bad things I did. I can't help it. Something makes me. You are the only person who has looked after me and not got angry. I think you understand. I hope you forgive me. Adrian, Lucy and Paula are very lucky. When they have made me better can I come and live with you? Will you be my new mummy? I don't want my old one.
Love,
Jodie
People who reads my blog, I don't expect you guys to go buy this book (though I think buying it will be much better), but if you found it over at the library, borrow and read it. I'm not sure whether it will touch you, but I know for sure this book and this story touch my heart.
